What to expect in this challenge

  • From Monday, January 20th to Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, you’ll receive daily prompts—alternating between sketching and journaling: Day 1: sketching, day 2: journaling, day 3: sketching, day 4: journaling, and so on.
  • All prompts are designed to take just 5 minutes and are simple enough for any day, whether it’s busy or slow.
  • The prompts, tips, AND each other’s drawings will be shared on a private Instagram account, where you get to join a community of participants from all over the world.  
  • To help you stay on track, we’ll send a few email reminders as well, but make sure to check Instagram daily.
  • No experience needed: Whether you’re new to sketching or journaling, our prompts are fun, easy, and beginner-friendly!

  • Private Instagram community: Share your drawings and writings, connect with others, and get inspired.

Two live online sessions: Join us on Friday January 24th and/or Friday 31st for a 30-minute live session where we’ll be doing a bonus exercise and create together!

Hi! We are Line and Marlies, and we love to explore the world of simple selfcare.

Line is the owner of ‘The Creative Cooldown,’ a space dedicated to showing how simple sketching can clear your mind and reduce stress.

Marlies is the owner of ‘Inspiration by Marlies,’ and organizes all kinds of challenges. Her favourite is the journaling challenge. Writing just a few minutes a day gives you the rest you deserve.

Together, we’re bringing you 14 days of creative self-care to help you feel inspired, calm, and recharged.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Do I need any experience in drawing or journaling?
A: Nope! This challenge is for beginners. We’re all about having fun and exploring. There is no need to be perfect or brilliant. Just be who you are.

Q: What supplies do I need?
A: All you need is pen and paper! Grab a notebook and something to draw or write with (like a pencil or pen). When it comes to the sketching, you can also use colored pencils, markers, crayons, etc. But this is absolutely not necessary.

Q: What if I miss a day of the challenge?
A: Don’t worry about that! You can always pick up where you left off. We’ll be sharing tips for staying consistent on a daily basis and help you get back on track.

Q: What if I can’t make it to one of the live sessions?
A: Both of the live sessions will be recorded. We’ll share them afterwards so you can watch them anytime. It’s still the most fun if you can join live of course 🙂

Q: How long does a live session take?
A: Our live sessions take about 30 minutes. We start with an introduction with a few tips and get going with sketching and journaling.
